KALONZO BLASTS OBAMA: Kalonzo laments why he was personally not amused by OBAMA’S visit to Kenya
Former Vice President, Kalonzo Musyoka, has blasted US President, Barrack Obama, for breaking protocol and norms during his recent visit to Kenya.Speaking at the University of Nairobi where he addressed Law students on ethnic strife, social exclusion and corruption in the country, Kalonzo noted that he was not amused by Obama’s visit because he failed to meet his expectations and that of the Opposition.
For starters, he declined to address the joint Kenyan Parliament as is the norm for a visiting Head of State of his caliber whenever he visits a foreign country; something he said was unfortunate and disappointing.
Besides, Kalonzo noted that the US President did not take the Opposition seriously to address their concerns against the Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, during his visit.
During his meeting with Opposition leaders, among them former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Martha Karua, Obama did not yield to their pressure to reprimand Uhuru/ Ruto’s Government over corruption, tribalism among others, instead, he bashed them and told them to stop doublespeak and support the Jubilee Government.
